1. Vaishno Devi

9. Gokarna

 

  • One of the most beautiful temples and a holy abode for the devotees of Lord Shiva, Gokarna is a town on the Arabian Sea, in the South Western state of Karnataka.

  • The temple is believed to have the ‘Pranalinga’ or ‘Atmalinga’ or ‘Shiva Linga’.

10. Kudalasangama

 

  • Referred in many poems by Akka Mahadevi the famous Indian poetess it is an important pilgrimage for Lingayats.

  • Located 15 kilometres from Almatti Dam in the Bagalkote district of Karnataka.

  • The Krishna and Malaprabha Rivers meet and then flow east towards Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh making it the most serene place for devotees and travellers to visit.

  • The Sangmanatha Temple was built in the 13th century under the reign of the Chalukyas.

  • It is the Aikya mantapa or Samadhi of Basveshwara.

  • One can witness the Aikya Linga of Lord Basaveshwara, the founder of the Lingyat religion and the Mahamane of the Basava Dharma Peetha along with the mini forest called the Poojavana.
